How do I rotate an angle in Adobe Acrobat?

Published in Adobe Acrobat 2 mins read

You can't rotate an angle itself directly within Adobe Acrobat, but you can rotate the entire view of a PDF document in increments of 90 degrees. This effectively rotates any angles visible within the document on your screen. Here's how:

Rotating the View in Adobe Acrobat

Follow these steps to rotate the viewing angle of your PDF:

  1. Open the PDF: Begin by opening the PDF file you want to work with in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Navigate to the View Menu: Click on the "View" option in the top menu bar.
  3. Select Rotate View: From the "View" dropdown menu, find and select "Rotate View".
  4. Choose Rotation Direction: A submenu will appear, giving you two options:
    • Clockwise: Rotates the view 90 degrees clockwise.
    • Counterclockwise: Rotates the view 90 degrees counterclockwise.
  5. Repeat as Needed: Continue selecting either "Clockwise" or "Counterclockwise" until the page is oriented correctly for your viewing preference.

Important Considerations:

  • This is a temporary view change. Rotating the view in this way does not permanently alter the PDF file itself. The next time you (or someone else) opens the document, it will revert to its original orientation. To permanently rotate pages, see the next section.
  • Permanent Rotation: If you need to permanently rotate the pages within the PDF (e.g., because they were scanned incorrectly), you'll need to use the "Organize Pages" tool.

Permanently Rotating Pages in Adobe Acrobat

To permanently rotate pages, follow these steps:

  1. Open the PDF: Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Organize Pages Tool: Either search for "Organize Pages" in the search bar, or find it in the "Tools" panel (if available, it may vary depending on your Acrobat version).
  3. Select Pages to Rotate: Choose the page(s) you want to rotate by clicking on their thumbnails. You can select multiple pages.
  4. Rotate: Use the rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise icons in the toolbar to rotate the selected pages.
  5. Save the PDF: Save the PDF (File -> Save or File -> Save As) to make the changes permanent.
