How do you split view in Adobe Acrobat?

Published in Adobe Acrobat 2 mins read

Adobe Acrobat allows you to split the document window to view different parts of the same document simultaneously. This is particularly useful for comparing different sections or viewing original and translated text side-by-side.

Here's how you can split the view:

  1. Open your document in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Go to the "View" menu.
  3. Select "Split." You may see options such as "Split Vertically" or "Split Horizontally," depending on how you want to divide the viewing area. Choosing "Split" will generally split the view vertically.
  • Alternatively, depending on your version, you might find the split option under "Window" -> "Split."
  1. Adjust the Split: After splitting, you'll have two independent viewing panels. You can scroll through each panel separately. Drag the divider between the panels to resize them.
  2. Synchronized Scrolling (if available): Some versions of Acrobat offer synchronized scrolling, allowing both panels to scroll together. Check the View menu or toolbar for this option, which may be labeled something like "Synchronize Views."

With the split view, you can navigate independently in each pane, making it easy to cross-reference information within the same document. This feature is helpful for comparing edits, viewing translations alongside originals, or simply managing large documents.
