How Do I Edit Text in Adobe Dimension?

Published in Adobe Dimension Text Editing 2 mins read

To edit text in Adobe Dimension, you primarily use the Properties panel after adding text to your scene.

After selecting the Text tool and clicking in your scene to add your initial text, you can make modifications. The editing process is split into two main areas within the Properties panel:

  • Properties > Object: This is where you adjust the text content itself, its 3D geometry, and shape. As mentioned in the reference, you Go to Properties > Object to edit the text, extrusion, and bevel settings.
    • Here, you can change the actual words displayed.
    • You can control the depth or extrusion of the text, making it thicker or thinner.
    • You can modify the bevel, which adds a shaped edge to the text, affecting its appearance and how light catches it.
  • Properties > Material: This section is dedicated to the visual appearance and texture of your text. The reference states, "Go to Properties > Material to apply and edit the appearance of the text."
    • You apply materials from your library or scene here.
    • You can adjust material properties like color, roughness, metallicness, opacity, and apply textures or graphics.

By using these two sections within the Properties panel, you have full control over both the structural and visual aspects of your 3D text in Adobe Dimension.
