How to use a Magic Wand in Fresco?

Published in Adobe Fresco 2 mins read

To use the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Fresco, follow these steps:

  1. Open your artwork: Start by opening the artwork you want to edit within Adobe Fresco.

  2. Access Selection Tools: Double-tap the Selection tools icon in the toolbar located on the left-hand side of the Fresco interface. This will reveal a drop-down menu with various selection options.

  3. Select the Magic Wand Tool: From the drop-down menu, choose the Magic Wand tool. You can also select it by pressing the "W" key on your keyboard if you're using a keyboard with Fresco.

  4. Make Selections: Tap on the specific section or object within your layer that you want to select. The Magic Wand tool will automatically select areas with similar colors based on your tap.

  5. Adjust Selection with Color Margin Controls: Use the color margin controls slider to fine-tune your selection. Adjusting the slider affects the tolerance of the Magic Wand. A higher tolerance will select a broader range of colors similar to the area you tapped, while a lower tolerance will select a narrower range. Experiment with the slider to achieve the desired selection.

Essentially, the Magic Wand tool allows you to quickly select areas of similar color within a layer, which can then be modified or adjusted as needed.
