To convert point text to area text (a text box) in Adobe Illustrator, double-click the small circle located on the right side of the text object. This will convert the point text into area text, allowing you to resize the box and the text will wrap within it instead of squashing the text.
Steps:
- Select the Text: Using the Selection Tool (V), click on the text you want to convert.
- Locate the Handle: Look for the small circle on the right side of the text object near the bounding box.
- Double-Click: Double-click on the small circle. This instantly converts the point text to area text.
- Resize (Optional): You can now resize the text box, and the text will automatically wrap within the defined area.
This allows you to control the flow of text within a specific area, making it easier to create designs with structured text layouts.
