How do you ungroup and group in Illustrator?

To ungroup and group objects in Adobe Illustrator, you can use the Object menu or keyboard shortcuts.

Ungrouping Objects

  1. Select the Group: Use the Selection Tool (V) to click on the group you want to ungroup.
  2. Ungroup:
    • Method 1: Object Menu Go to Object > Ungroup.
    • Method 2: Keyboard Shortcut Press Ctrl+Shift+G (Windows) or Command+Shift+G (Mac).

This will separate the objects within the group, allowing you to manipulate them individually.

Grouping Objects

  1. Select the Objects: Use the Selection Tool (V) to select all the individual objects you want to group. You can do this by clicking and dragging a selection box around them or by holding Shift and clicking on each object.
  2. Group:
    • Method 1: Object Menu Go to Object > Group.
    • Method 2: Keyboard Shortcut Press Ctrl+G (Windows) or Command+G (Mac).

The selected objects will now be treated as a single unit, allowing you to move, scale, and rotate them together.
