How do I add After Effects to Premiere Pro?

Published in Adobe Integration 1 min read

Adding After Effects compositions to Premiere Pro is a straightforward process using Adobe Dynamic Link. This allows you to seamlessly integrate your After Effects work into your Premiere Pro projects without rendering.

Here's how you do it:

  1. In Premiere Pro, go to File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition. This initiates the Dynamic Link process.

  2. Locate your After Effects project (.aep file) in the file browser that appears. Navigate to the folder where your After Effects project is saved.

  3. Select the specific compositions you want to import and click "OK". A window will display all compositions within your After Effects project. Choose the ones you need in Premiere Pro.

Once you've imported the compositions, they'll appear in your Premiere Pro Project panel, ready to be dragged and dropped onto your timeline like any other video clip. Any changes you make in After Effects will automatically update in Premiere Pro, thanks to Dynamic Link.
