How do I import a timeline into Premiere Pro?

Published in Adobe Premiere Pro 2 mins read

To import a timeline (sequence) into Premiere Pro from another project, use the Premiere Pro Media Browser.

Here's how:

  1. Open Premiere Pro. Launch Adobe Premiere Pro.
  2. Open your current project. The project you want to import into.
  3. Access the Media Browser. Go to Window > Media Browser.
  4. Locate the Premiere Pro project file. In the Media Browser panel, navigate to the location of the Premiere Pro project file (.prproj) that contains the timeline you want to import.
  5. Find the sequence. Once you've located the project, open it in the Media Browser. You will see all the sequences (timelines) within that project.
  6. Import the desired sequence. Select the sequence(s) you want to import. Right-click on the selected sequence(s) and choose "Import." Alternatively, you can drag and drop the sequence from the Media Browser into your Project panel.
  7. The sequence and its media are now in your project. The selected sequence(s) and all the media it uses will be added to your Project panel, and you can use them in your current project.
