How do I open an animation graph in After Effects?

Published in After Effects Animation 1 min read

You can open the animation graph (Graph Editor) in After Effects using a keyboard shortcut or by clicking an icon in the Timeline panel.

Here's how:

  • Keyboard Shortcut: Press Shift + F3 on your keyboard. This will toggle the Graph Editor open or closed.

  • Timeline Panel Icon: Locate the small graph icon next to the motion blur button at the top of the Timeline panel. Click this icon to toggle the Graph Editor.

The Graph Editor allows you to fine-tune your animations by adjusting the values and speed of properties over time using graphs. This gives you much greater control compared to simply adjusting keyframes in the default Timeline view.
