How do I open the tracker window in After Effects?

Published in After Effects Tutorials 1 min read

To open the Tracker window in Adobe After Effects, go to the Window menu at the top of the screen and select Tracker.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Locate the Window Menu: Look at the very top of your After Effects interface. You should see a menu bar with options like "File," "Edit," "Composition," and "Window."

  2. Click "Window": Click on the "Window" option in the menu bar. This will open a dropdown menu containing a list of panels and workspaces.

  3. Find and Select "Tracker": Scroll through the dropdown menu until you find "Tracker." Click on "Tracker" to open the Tracker panel. It may also be called "Motion Tracker" in some versions of After Effects.

Once you've done this, the Tracker panel will appear, usually docked to one side of your After Effects interface, ready for you to begin motion tracking footage in your composition. If it's not docked, it might appear as a floating window, which you can then dock to your preferred location.
