You can copy an adjustment layer in After Effects using standard copy-paste methods, just like any other layer. Here's how:
-
Select the Adjustment Layer: In the Timeline panel, click on the adjustment layer you want to copy.
-
Copy the Layer: You have a couple of options:
- Using the Menu: Go to Edit > Copy.
- Using Keyboard Shortcuts: Press
Ctrl+C
(Windows) orCmd+C
(Mac).
-
Paste the Layer: In the Timeline panel, click on the layer above where you want the copied adjustment layer to appear. Then:
- Using the Menu: Go to Edit > Paste.
- Using Keyboard Shortcuts: Press
Ctrl+V
(Windows) orCmd+V
(Mac).
Now, a duplicate of your adjustment layer will be created. The new adjustment layer will contain all the same effects and properties as the original. This is useful for applying the same adjustments to different parts of your composition, or for creating variations of existing effects. Remember that adjustment layers affect all layers below them in the layer stack.
