Why are allergies worse at night?

Furthermore, lying down can concentrate allergens in the nasal passages, making them more likely to trigger a reaction. Lastly, using a humidifier can worsen allergies by creating a favorable environment for mold growth, especially if the humidifier isn't properly cleaned and maintained.

To manage nighttime allergies, it is crucial to reduce allergen exposure by washing bedding regularly in hot water, using hypoallergenic pillows and mattress covers, and keeping pets out of the bedroom. Investing in an air purifier can also help remove airborne allergens from the air. Over-the-counter antihistamines may help manage symptoms, but it's best to consult a doctor for personalized advice and treatment options.
