What age is safe for skin testing?

Published in Allergy Testing 1 min read

Skin testing is generally safe and effective for adults and children of all ages. While percutaneous skin testing is rarely conducted on infants younger than 6 months old, there is no age limit for skin testing otherwise.

Allergy tests, including skin prick tests and intradermal tests, are considered safe and accurate. The allergist will determine the appropriate testing method based on the individual's age, medical history, and the specific allergens being tested.
