How to Add Amazon Prime Content to Your Kids' Profiles

Published in Amazon Kids Content Management 2 mins read

You can add specific content you have access to through your Amazon Prime membership, like Prime Video movies and shows or Prime Reading books, to a child's profile within the Amazon Kids environment using the Amazon Parent Dashboard.

Adding content to a child's profile allows them to access that specific item within the curated and controlled Amazon Kids interface on compatible devices like Fire tablets or the Amazon Kids app. This does not give the child their own Prime membership or unfiltered access to all Prime content.

Follow these steps to add desired content:

  1. Go to the Amazon Parent Dashboard. This is the central hub for managing your child's profiles, content, and settings.
  2. Navigate to the child profile that you wish to manage and select Settings (look for the gear icon).
  3. Select Add Content. This option allows you to choose from the content available on your Amazon account.
  4. Select the desired content category using the tabs above the list of content (e.g., Apps, Books, Videos). Browse or search for the specific Prime content you want to add and select it.

Once added, the content will appear in the child's profile on their Amazon Kids-enabled device or app, subject to any age filters or restrictions you have set.

Why Add Content Individually?

  • Control: You decide exactly what content your child can access.
  • Curated Experience: The Amazon Kids environment is designed to be safe and age-appropriate, displaying only the content you've approved.
  • Tailored Profiles: You can add different content to different child profiles based on their age and interests.

For more information on managing content within Amazon Kids, you can refer to resources like the Amazon Digital and Device Forum, which discusses adding Prime Video and other content.

Remember, adding content from your Prime benefits simply makes that specific piece of content available to your child within their controlled profile, rather than granting them broad access to your entire Prime account.
