    • Blood vessels: A rich blood supply warms and humidifies the air.
  • Conchae (Turbinates): These are bony shelves that project into the nasal cavity. They increase the surface area for warming, humidifying, and filtering air. The superior, middle, and inferior conchae exist.
  • Olfactory Epithelium: Located in the upper part of the nasal cavity, this specialized tissue contains olfactory receptor neurons responsible for the sense of smell.
