The nose bone is called the nasal bone. It is a small, flat bone that forms the bridge of the nose. There are two nasal bones, one on each side of the nose, that meet in the middle to form the nasal septum, which is the wall that divides the nose into two chambers.
The nasal bone is part of the facial skeleton, which also includes the zygomatic bone, maxillae, palatine bones, lacrimal bones, inferior nasal conchae, vomer, and mandible.
The nasal bone can be broken, which is a common injury known as a nasal fracture. A deviated septum, which occurs when the cartilage and bone that separates the nasal cavity is off-center, can also affect the nasal bones.
