Do Animals Enjoy Sunsets?

Published in Animal Behavior 1 min read

It appears that at least some animals, like monkeys, may indeed enjoy sunsets.

While we cannot definitively know if animals experience the same emotional or aesthetic appreciation of sunsets as humans, observations suggest they are drawn to them.

According to a National Geographic experiment, monkeys will interrupt their feeding and move to a place on the cliffs where they can best watch a sunset. This behavior indicates a possible attraction to sunsets beyond basic needs like food or shelter. This suggests they find some value, whether visually stimulating or otherwise, in observing the sunset.
