Snakes' blood is red.
The red color is due to the presence of hemoglobin, a respiratory pigment found in their blood. Hemoglobin, also found in the blood of frogs and lizards (and humans!), contains iron, which binds to oxygen and gives blood its characteristic red hue. So, like most vertebrates, snakes have red blood circulating through their bodies.
