What is Mulberry disease?

Published in Animal Health 1 min read

Mulberry heart disease is a condition that arises from a deficiency of Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) within the diet, and this is worsened by low levels of methionine and cystine, coupled with high-fat content. Oxidized fat, copper, and the wet storage of cereals, particularly propionic acid-stored barley, can further reduce Vitamin E levels, thus contributing to the development of the disease.
