A Lama glama is the scientific name for the llama, a domesticated livestock species.
Llamas are South American members of the camel family (Camelidae), belonging to the order Artiodactyla. They are descendants of the guanaco (Lama guanicoe). Llamas are known for their use as pack animals and for their wool.
