You can set up fingerprint authentication for the App Store by managing your Touch ID settings.
Setting Up Touch ID for App Store
To use your fingerprint for App Store purchases and downloads, you'll need to enable Touch ID in your device settings. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Open Settings: Tap on the Settings app icon on your device.
- Find Touch ID & Passcode: Scroll down and tap on "Touch ID & Passcode" (or "Face ID & Passcode" on newer devices).
- Enter your Passcode: You'll likely be prompted to enter your device's passcode for security purposes.
- Manage Touch ID Settings:
- You'll see options to toggle Touch ID on or off for different features. Locate "iTunes & App Store".
- Toggle the switch next to "iTunes & App Store" to the "on" position (green).
Now you can use your registered fingerprint to authorize purchases and downloads on the App Store.

You can manage your registered fingerprints within the same settings area:
- Adding a Fingerprint:
- Tap on "Add a Fingerprint..."
- Follow the onscreen instructions to scan your fingerprint multiple times from different angles.
- Removing a Fingerprint:
