How to Change Apple ID on iPad?

Published in Apple ID 2 mins read

To change your Apple ID on your iPad, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings: On your iPad's home screen, locate and tap the "Settings" app.

  2. Tap Your Name: At the top of the Settings menu, you'll see your name and Apple ID profile. Tap on it.

  3. Tap Sign-In & Security: In the Apple ID menu, find and tap on "Sign-In & Security".

  4. Edit Email & Phone Numbers: Locate the section labeled "Email & Phone Numbers" and tap "Edit" next to it.

  5. Remove Existing Email Address: Tap the red "Remove" button (looks like a minus sign in a circle) next to the email address you want to change, then tap "Delete" to confirm.

  6. Choose Another Email Address: Tap on "Choose Another Email Address." You may be prompted to enter your device passcode for security.

  7. Enter New Email Address: Type in the new email address you want to use as your Apple ID and then tap "Continue."

Important Notes:

  • After changing your Apple ID email address, Apple will send a verification email to the new address. You'll need to verify it to complete the change.
  • Make sure you remember your new Apple ID and password.
  • This process only changes the email address associated with your Apple ID. It does not create a new Apple ID. If you want to start completely fresh, you'll need to create a new Apple ID separately.
