How Do I Stop Apple Music from Playing?

Published in Apple Music 2 mins read

Here's how to stop Apple Music from playing, including how to turn off Autoplay:

  1. Open Apple Music: Launch the Apple Music application on your device.

  2. Access Now Playing: If a song is currently playing, you'll see a mini player at the bottom of the screen. Tap on this to expand it to the full "Now Playing" screen.

  3. Open the Queue: Look for an icon typically located in the bottom right corner of the "Now Playing" screen. This icon looks like three horizontal lines with three dots on them. Tap this icon to open the queue.

  4. Disable Autoplay: In the queue view, look for the Autoplay icon. It resembles an infinity symbol (∞). If it's white or colored, Autoplay is currently enabled. Tap the Autoplay icon. When it becomes grayed out or transparent, Autoplay is disabled.

By disabling Autoplay, Apple Music will stop playing new songs after the current queue finishes. If you simply want to pause the current song, use the pause button on the "Now Playing" screen or on your device's controls.
