How to Verify Apple ID?

Published in Apple Security 2 mins read

To verify your Apple ID, you typically need to enable and use two-factor authentication. Here's how:

Steps to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Apple ID Verification:

  1. Go to Settings: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Settings app.
  2. Access Your Apple ID Settings: Tap on your name at the top of the Settings menu.
  3. Navigate to Sign-In & Security: Select "Sign-In & Security".
  4. Turn On Two-Factor Authentication: Tap "Turn On Two-Factor Authentication". If it's already on, your Apple ID is already verified using this method.
  5. Continue Setup: Tap "Continue" to proceed with the setup.
  6. Enter Trusted Phone Number: Enter a trusted phone number. This is the number where you'll receive verification codes. Ensure this number is accurate and one you have consistent access to.
  7. Tap Next: Tap "Next". A verification code will be sent to the phone number you provided.
  8. Enter Verification Code: Enter the verification code you received on your trusted phone number.

Once you complete these steps, two-factor authentication will be enabled for your Apple ID, effectively verifying it. Whenever you sign in to a new device or browser with your Apple ID, you'll need to enter both your password and the verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number. This adds an extra layer of security and confirms it's really you accessing your account.
