How can I reset my password on Apple Watch?

Published in Apple Watch Passcodes 2 mins read

To reset your passcode on your Apple Watch, you actually need to change it, either directly on the watch itself or through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. There isn't a traditional "reset" process like with an Apple ID password.

Here's how to change your Apple Watch passcode:

Method 1: On Your Apple Watch

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Scroll down and tap Passcode.
  3. Tap Change Passcode.
  4. Enter your old passcode.
  5. Enter your new passcode.
  6. Enter your new passcode again to confirm.

Method 2: Using the Apple Watch App on Your iPhone

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Passcode.
  4. Tap Change Passcode.
  5. Enter your old passcode on your Apple Watch.
  6. Enter your new passcode on your Apple Watch.
  7. Enter your new passcode again to confirm on your Apple Watch.

Important Considerations:

  • If you've forgotten your passcode completely, you'll need to erase your Apple Watch and set it up again. This will remove all data from the watch. You can then restore from a backup if you have one. To erase your watch, you'll do so from the Find My app (or Find My iPhone). You cannot bypass the passcode without erasing.

  • Consider using a longer, more complex passcode for increased security.
