Which planet has only one moon?

Published in Astronomy 1 min read

Earth is the planet in our solar system that has only one moon.

Of the inner, rocky planets, neither Mercury nor Venus have any moons at all. Mars has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos. The gas giants (Jupiter and Saturn) and the ice giants (Uranus and Neptune) in the outer solar system all have dozens of moons. Therefore, Earth stands out as the only planet with precisely one moon.
