How to Enable ASUS Smart Connect Using the ASUS Router App

Published in ASUS Router Smart Connect 2 mins read

You can easily enable ASUS Smart Connect using the ASUS Router App on your mobile device. This feature helps simplify your Wi-Fi setup by automatically assigning devices to the best available network band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz on tri-band routers).

Once enabled, Smart Connect typically groups your 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and (if applicable) 6 GHz networks under a single Wi-Fi name (SSID). Your devices will then automatically connect to the optimal band based on their capabilities, signal strength, and network traffic, aiming to provide the best connection performance.

Steps to Enable Smart Connect via ASUS Router App

Follow these steps to turn on the Smart Connect feature on your compatible ASUS router:

  1. Open the ASUS Router App on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap on [ Settings ] in the app menu.
  3. Navigate to the [ WiFi ] section.
  4. Select [ Wireless Settings ].
  5. Tap on [ Network Settings ].
  6. Find and select [ Tri-Band Smart Connect ] (or similar option depending on your router model).
  7. Tap [ Apply ] to save your new settings.

After tapping "Apply," your router will likely restart or briefly reconfigure your Wi-Fi networks. Once the process is complete, your Wi-Fi networks will be combined under a single name, and Smart Connect will begin managing device connections automatically.

Enabling Smart Connect is the primary way to "use" this feature, allowing the router to intelligently manage your wireless connections without manual intervention.
