You can change the pitch of audio in Final Cut Pro using the Pitch Shifter effect. Here's how:
-
Select the Clip: In the Final Cut Pro timeline, select the audio clip you want to modify.
-
Apply the Pitch Shifter Effect:
- Navigate to the Effects browser (usually found on the right side of the Final Cut Pro interface).
- Search for "Pitch Shifter" in the audio effects category.
- Drag and drop the "Pitch Shifter" effect onto the selected audio clip in your timeline.
-
Adjust the Pitch:
- Select the clip in the timeline.
- Open the Audio inspector (usually found on the right side of the interface). If it's not visible, go to Window > Show Inspector > Audio.
- Within the Audio inspector, locate the "Pitch Shifter" effect settings.
- Semi Tones: Drag the "Semi Tones" slider to adjust the pitch in semitone increments. This is the main control for shifting the pitch up or down.
- Cents: Drag the "Cents" slider for finer pitch adjustments within a semitone. This allows for subtle detuning.
Essentially, the "Semi Tones" slider offers coarse adjustments, while the "Cents" slider provides fine-tuning for achieving the desired pitch. Experiment with both to achieve the sound you're after.
