The command for layer isolate in AutoCAD is LAYISO.
To use the LAYISO command:
- Type LAYISO in the command line and press Enter.
- Select the object(s) on the layer(s) you want to isolate. You can select multiple objects on different layers if you want to isolate multiple layers at once.
- Press Enter to execute the command. All layers except the layer(s) of the selected object(s) will be turned off, locked, or faded, depending on your settings.
The LAYISO command offers several options for controlling the behavior of the isolated and unisolated layers. You can access these options by typing LAYISO in the command line and then typing S for "Settings" and pressing enter. The available settings include:
- Off: Turns off all layers except the selected one(s).
- Lock and fade: Locks the unselected layers and dims them by a specified percentage. This allows you to see the context of the isolated layers while still focusing on them.
- Viewport: isolates the specified layers in the current layout viewport only.
To restore the layers to their previous state after using LAYISO, use the LAYUNISO command. Simply type LAYUNISO in the command line and press Enter.
