How to Resize a Raster Image in AutoCAD?

Published in AutoCAD Raster Image 2 mins read

To resize a raster image in AutoCAD, you can use the Scale command specifically designed for raster objects found within the Raster Tools tab.

Steps to Scale a Raster Image

The primary method for resizing a raster image using the dedicated raster tools involves selecting the image and defining a scale factor or a reference distance. Here's how you do it, based on the standard process:

  1. On the ribbon, navigate to the Raster Tools tab.
  2. In the Correlate panel, click the Scale command.
  3. Select an image to scale by clicking its image frame in the drawing.
  4. Select a base point for the scale. This point will remain fixed during the scaling operation.
  5. Define the source distance factor. You can do this by:
    • Typing a specific numeric value for the scale factor. For example, typing 2 would double the image size.
    • Selecting two points on the image or within your drawing to define a reference distance. You would then specify the desired new distance for this reference distance.

This process allows you to accurately scale the raster image relative to a base point, either by a specific factor or by aligning it to a known dimension.
