How do I import a custom tool palette into AutoCAD?

Published in AutoCAD Tool Palettes 1 min read

To import a custom tool palette into AutoCAD, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Tool Palettes Customization: Click the Manage tab, then go to the Customization panel, and select Tool Palettes. You can alternatively type CUSTOMIZE in the command line.

  2. Initiate the Import: In the Customize dialog box, locate the section on the left side showing your tool palettes. Right-click within that section and choose Import.

  3. Locate and Open the Palette File: An "Import" dialog box will appear. Navigate to the location of the tool palette file you want to import. Tool palette files typically have a .xtp extension. Select the file and click Open.

The tool palette will then be added to your list of available tool palettes in AutoCAD. You can access it by opening the Tool Palettes window (Ctrl+3 or type TOOLPALETTES in the command line).
