How do I copy color correction in Avid?

Published in Avid Color Correction 2 mins read

To copy color correction settings in Avid, you can save the correction as an effect and then apply it to other clips. Here's how:

  1. Save the Color Correction: In the Avid interface, locate the clip with the color correction you want to copy. In the Color Correction tool (often found in the Effect Mode), in the top right toolbar you'll see a button with a little rectangle showing a black, green, red, blue, white gradient. This button allows you to save the current color correction. Click and drag this button from the Color Correction tool panel into a bin.

  2. Name the Color Correction: In the bin, you'll see a new icon representing the color correction you just saved. Rename it to something descriptive (e.g., "WarmLook_Interview").

  3. Apply the Color Correction: Now, select the clip you want to apply the saved color correction to. Drag the saved color correction effect (from the bin) directly onto the clip in the timeline. This will apply all the color correction settings from the original clip to the new clip.

That's it! You've successfully copied and pasted color correction in Avid.
