Does beetroot like lime?

Published in Beetroot Gardening 1 min read

Beetroot benefits from lime if the soil is too acidic, as it prefers a slightly alkaline to neutral pH.

Beetroot thrives in soil with a pH of 6.0 to 7.0. If your soil is more acidic than that, adding lime will help to raise the pH to the optimal level. This allows the beetroot to absorb nutrients more efficiently, leading to better growth and yields. Without adequate pH balance, beetroot may struggle to develop properly. Lime balances out the acidic pH to make the soil better for growing beetroot.
