Which Prophet lived with lion?

Published in Biblical Figures 1 min read

The Prophet Daniel is known for living (or rather, surviving) in a den with lions.

According to the Book of Daniel (chapter 6), Daniel, a high-ranking official in the Babylonian empire, was targeted by jealous rivals who tricked King Darius into issuing a decree forbidding prayer to any god or man except the king for thirty days. Daniel, faithful to his God, continued to pray, leading to his arrest and condemnation.

King Darius, though fond of Daniel, was bound by his own decree and had Daniel thrown into a den of lions. Darius spent a sleepless night fasting and praying for Daniel. In the morning, he rushed to the den and found Daniel alive and unharmed. Daniel explained that God had sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths, protecting him because he was innocent.

The story of Daniel in the lions' den is a powerful testament to faith, divine protection, and the consequences of jealousy and deceit. The lions did not harm Daniel because of God's intervention.
