The part of the body that never truly "destroyed" is the skeleton. The skeleton and teeth are much more robust than soft tissues and can remain intact for many years. Although they undergo some changes after death, they are resistant to decomposition. This is why skeletal remains are often used to identify individuals and learn about past populations.
