Unfortunately, it is not possible to uninstall Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft has made it so that the Edge browser cannot be uninstalled from Windows. You can, however, remove shortcuts and make another browser your default.
Why Can't I Uninstall Microsoft Edge?
As mentioned in the reference, Microsoft has made it impossible to uninstall MS Edge. To understand more about why this is the case, refer to the Microsoft support article.
What Can You Do Instead of Uninstalling?
While you can't uninstall Edge, you can customize your browsing experience:
- Delete Shortcuts: Remove Edge icons from your desktop or taskbar.
- Set Default Browser: Choose your preferred browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) as the default for opening web links.
These steps will minimize the visibility and usage of Edge while allowing you to use your preferred browser.
Steps to Change Default Browser
- Go to Windows settings.
- Click on "Apps".
- Select "Default apps".
- Scroll down to "Web browser" and click on the current browser shown.
- Choose your preferred browser from the list.
By setting a different default browser, Windows will open web links with your selection instead of Edge.
