Published in Browser Settings 1 min read

To change your browser's default download location, follow these steps within the Chrome browser:

  1. Open Chrome Settings: Click the three vertical dots (the Chrome menu) located in the top-right corner of the browser window, then select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

  2. Navigate to Advanced Settings: Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page and click on "Advanced." This will expand additional settings options.

  3. Locate the Downloads Section: Under the "Advanced" section, find the "Downloads" category.

  4. Change Download Location: Within the "Downloads" section, you'll see an option labeled "Location" which shows your current download folder. Click the "Change" button next to it.

  5. Choose New Folder: A file explorer window will open. Navigate to the folder you want to use as your new default download location and select it. Click "Select Folder" (or the equivalent button on your operating system).

Your download location is now changed. New files you download will be saved in the folder you selected.
