The controlling stake in United Bank Limited (UBL) is owned jointly by Bestway Group and Abu Dhabi Group.
After a competitive bidding process in October 2002, a joint venture was formed between Bestway Group, led by Sir Anwar Pervez and Lord Choudrey, and Abu Dhabi Group, representing His Highness Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan. This joint venture successfully acquired a controlling stake in UBL. Therefore, UBL isn't owned by a single entity, but rather through a partnership between these two significant groups.
