Upper 2-½" to 3" from bottom
Base 2-½" to 3" from top

Visual Examples

  • Upper cabinets: Imagine a cabinet above your countertop. The knob would be in the bottom corner on the opposite side of the hinge.

  • Base cabinets: Envision a cabinet below your counter. The knob would be near the top corner, opposite the hinge.

Placement on Drawers

  • While the reference focuses on doors, it is important to note knobs can be placed on drawers too. The exact placement will depend on the size of the drawer, its design and personal preference. Knobs can be centered for single knobs, or aligned with cabinet door knobs if there are multiple knobs or drawers.

By understanding these standard placement guidelines, you can achieve a functional and aesthetically pleasing look for your cabinetry.
