How Do You Put Icing on a Cake Transfer?

To successfully transfer an icing design onto a cake, the key is to chill it properly first. Here's how:

  1. After creating your buttercream transfer on parchment paper, place it in the refrigerator for about an hour, or in the freezer for approximately 15 minutes.
  2. This chilling period allows the buttercream to firm up, making it easier to handle and preventing smudging during the transfer.
  3. Once the buttercream is sufficiently firm, carefully peel the parchment paper away from the back of the design, revealing your finished character or image on the cake.
