To upload fonts to Canva, you'll need a Canva Pro or Canva for Teams subscription. Once you have that, here's how to do it:
-
From the Canva home screen, tap the Menu icon.
-
Tap on Brand. If you don’t see “Brand,” you may need to tap on Brand Kit.
-
Within the Brand Kit section, scroll down to Fonts and tap the Upload a font button (or the + icon next to "Uploaded fonts"). If you already have some uploaded fonts, this section will display those.
-
Select the font file you wish to upload. Tap Choose files (or navigate to the file using your device's file explorer). Make sure the font file is in a supported format (OTF, TTF, and WOFF are commonly supported).
-
Confirm that you have the appropriate license and rights to use the font. This is a crucial step! You must legally own or have permission to use the font.
-
Wait for the upload to finish. The font will then be available for use in your Canva designs under the "Uploaded fonts" section within the font selection dropdown.
Important Considerations:
- Canva Pro/Teams Required: This feature is only available to Canva Pro or Canva for Teams subscribers.
- Licensing: Always ensure you have the legal rights to use any font you upload to Canva (or anywhere else!). Commercial use fonts typically require a license.
- File Format: Canva generally supports OTF, TTF, and WOFF font files.
- Troubleshooting: If you experience issues uploading, check the font file's integrity and make sure it’s a supported format. Also, verify your Canva Pro/Teams subscription is active.
