To edit a brand template in Canva, you need to first access it, and then edit the original template itself. Here's how:
Editing the Original Brand Template
-
Locate the template: Find the brand template you wish to edit. This is usually found within your "Brand Kit" or the specific design where you used the template.
-
Edit the original: Click on the design that uses the brand template. Then, click on the template element within the design. You should then see the option to "Edit original". This will take you to the original template itself.
-
Make your changes: Once you're in the original template, you can now modify any element you want, such as text, colors, images, or layout.
-
Save your changes: Canva automatically saves your work. Once you're done editing, simply exit the editor.
Deleting a Brand Template
If, instead of editing, you want to delete a brand template altogether:
- Locate the template: Go to the section in Canva where your brand templates are stored (usually your Brand Kit).
- Hover and select: Hover your cursor over the template you want to delete.
- Click the "More" icon: A "More" icon (often represented by three dots) should appear. Click it.
- Move to trash: Select the "Move to Trash" option from the menu. This will delete the template.
Keep in mind that deleting a template will remove it from your brand kit and any designs where it's used. Edited versions in existing designs will remain, but will no longer be linked to the original brand template.
