Changing the picture for your Canvas course is a straightforward process done through the course settings. Here's how you do it:

Open Course Settings: Navigate to your Canvas course and locate the "Settings" option in the course navigation menu (usually found at the bottom of the left-hand menu).

Open Course Details: Once in settings, you should be on the "Course Details" tab by default. If not, click on that tab.

Choose Image: In the "Image" section (typically near the top of the "Course Details" page), you will see the current course image (if any) and an option to change it.

Upload File: Click the "Choose Image" button. This will open a file browser on your computer. Select the image you want to use for your course.

View Image: After uploading, you should see a preview of the image you selected.

Manage Image: You might have some cropping or editing options available, depending on the size and dimensions of your image. Adjust as needed.

Update Course Details: Scroll to the bottom of the "Course Details" page and click the "Update Course Details" button to save your changes. The new image should now appear as the course picture.
That's it! Your course picture should now be updated. Keep in mind that there may be limitations on file size and format for the image you upload, which are usually specified within the Canvas interface itself.
