What are the age limits for fasting?

Published in Catholic Fasting 1 min read

For members of the Latin Catholic Church, fasting is obligatory from age 18 until age 59. Individuals under 18 and over 59 are not required to fast. This means that during Lent, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday, Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are expected to limit their food intake to one full meal and two smaller meals. However, the rules for fasting are different for those under 14 and over 59. For instance, Catholics aged 14 and older must abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent.
