Where is centrosome located?

Published in Cell Biology 1 min read

The centrosome is located in the cytoplasm, usually close to the nucleus.

According to research, the centrosome has the following characteristics:

  • It consists of two centrioles oriented at right angles to each other.
  • These centrioles are embedded in a mass of amorphous material containing more than 100 different proteins.
  • The centrosome is duplicated during the S phase of the cell cycle (Reference: 14-May-2022).
