To clear your Google Chrome address bar history (which is part of your browsing history), follow these steps:
- Open Google Chrome: Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.
- Access the Chrome Menu: Click on the three vertical dots (More) located in the top-right corner of the Chrome window.
- Go to History: Select "History" from the dropdown menu. A new history menu might appear; if so, select "History" again. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut:
Ctrl + H
(Windows) orCmd + Y
(Mac). - Open Clear Browsing Data: In the left-hand menu, click on "Clear browsing data."
- Set the Time Range: Use the "Time range" dropdown menu to select how much history you want to clear. To delete everything, choose "All time."
- Choose What to Delete: Make sure the box next to "Browsing history" is checked. You can also choose to delete other data like "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files." Clearing cookies will log you out of most websites.
- Clear the Data: Click the "Clear data" button.
After completing these steps, your Google Chrome address bar history will be cleared based on the time range you selected. Autocompleted suggestions in the address bar will no longer include the cleared history.
