How do I customize my Google Chrome account?

Published in Chrome Customization 2 mins read

You can customize your Google Chrome profile to personalize your browsing experience by changing its name, photo, or theme color. Here's how:

  1. Open Chrome: Launch the Google Chrome browser on your computer.
  2. Access Profile Settings: In the top right corner, click on your Profile icon (it might be your picture or a generic avatar).
  3. Manage Profiles: Next to "Other Profiles," choose "Manage profiles." This will open a window displaying your existing Chrome profiles.
  4. Edit Profile: Find the profile you want to customize. At the top right corner of that profile's tile, click the three vertical dots (More). Select "Edit."
  5. Customize:
    • Name: Enter a new name for your Chrome profile in the "Name" field. This is helpful if you have multiple profiles (e.g., one for work, one for personal use).
    • Photo: Choose a new profile picture. You can select from Google's pre-set avatars or upload your own image.
    • Theme Color: Select a color theme for your profile. This changes the color of the Chrome browser's top bar and the background of the new tab page.

Your changes are saved automatically. These customizations are visual changes to your profile and do not affect your Google account settings (like your password or Gmail settings).
