How do I remove a user from Chrome OS?

Published in Chrome OS Accounts 1 min read

You can remove a user from a Chrome OS device directly from the sign-in screen. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Chromebook sign-in screen: This is the screen you see when you first turn on your Chromebook or after locking it.
  2. Select the profile you want to remove.
  3. Next to the profile name, select the Down arrow (often a downward-facing chevron or triangle).
  4. Select Remove this user. A confirmation message might appear; confirm you want to proceed.

This will remove the user's account and all locally stored data associated with that profile from the Chromebook. Be sure the user has backed up any important files they want to keep before you remove the profile, as this process is typically irreversible.
