You can add shortcuts to your Chrome's New Tab Page (which is often referred to as the "Google homepage") by following these steps. Note that these shortcuts are linked to your Chrome browser profile, not necessarily the actual Google homepage (google.com).
Here's how to add shortcuts:
- Open Chrome: Launch the Google Chrome browser.
- Navigate to the website: Go to the website you want to create a shortcut for. For example, if you frequently visit YouTube, navigate to
www.youtube.com
. - Create Shortcut: Click the three dots (More menu) at the top-right corner of the Chrome window. Then, select "Save and Share" and then choose "Create Shortcut...".
- Name the Shortcut: A dialog box will appear. Enter a name for the shortcut in the provided field. This name will appear under the icon on your New Tab Page.
- (Optional) Open as Window: If you want the website to open in its own separate window (instead of a tab), check the "Open as window" box.
- Click Create: Click the "Create" button.
Now, when you open a new tab in Chrome, you should see the shortcut you just created on the New Tab Page (what most users think of as the Google homepage). You can rearrange these shortcuts by clicking and dragging them. To remove a shortcut, right-click on it and select "Delete".
Note: These steps are specific to creating shortcuts that appear on Chrome's New Tab Page. They don't create shortcuts on the actual Google.com homepage.
