How do I remove my Google account from my Chromebook?

Published in Chromebook Account Management 2 mins read

You can remove a Google account from your Chromebook through the settings menu. Here's how:

Steps to Remove a Google Account

To remove an additional Google account from your Chromebook, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Quick Settings: At the bottom right of your Chromebook screen, click the time. This opens the Quick Settings panel.
  2. Open Settings: In the Quick Settings panel, click the Settings icon, which is usually represented by a gear symbol.
  3. Navigate to Accounts: In the Settings menu, click on Accounts to view all accounts added to your Chromebook.
  4. Find the Account to Remove: In the "Additional account" section, find the account you want to remove.
  5. Open the Menu: Next to the account's name, click on the Menu icon, which is typically three vertical dots.
  6. Remove the Account: Select Remove this account from the menu options.

By following these steps, you'll successfully remove the selected Google account from your Chromebook. Remember that this will not delete the Google Account itself, just its access from your Chromebook.

Important Considerations:

  • You will not be able to remove the primary Google account used to set up the Chromebook.
  • Removing an account will log you out of all Google services associated with that account on the Chromebook.
  • Ensure you have all the necessary login information before removing an account, in case you need to add it again later.
